the eBay sandbox
The eBay Developers Program Sandbox is a test environment that represents a 'mini' eBay site.
The Sandbox provides the most important features of the eBay site, allowing you to build and test your application in a non-production environment. The eBay Sandbox supports both API testing as well as site testing via the GUI interface.

Supported Features
The Sandbox supports all API function calls for US and international sites. The sandbox GUI supports a large subset of the features that are available on the production eBay.com site. This subset consists of the pages that are most pertinent to the development of third party tools, but not necessarily all eBay features are supported. The list below is a representation of the high-level features currently supported in the sandbox.

Accessing the Sandbox
When testing in the sandbox, API calls should be posted to the Sandbox Gateway URL https://api.sandbox.ebay.com/ws/api.dll. The sandbox GUI site is located at http://www.sandbox.ebay.com and can be used to view your test transactions and test the complete auction cycle.

You must register and validate test users to use any of the features that require you to log in on the Sandbox site. Production eBay UserIDs and Passwords will not work in the Sandbox environment.

Sandbox Security
For all API calls to the Sandbox, use HTTPS/SSL and the Sandbox Keys information you received when you joined the program. Contact us if you did not receive an email with the Confirmation Code needed to retrieve your Sandbox Keys
