Legacy API Call Warning Messages
Feature Type:

New Feature

Anticipated Launch Date:

Mid-March 2006 for the U.S. and mid-April 2006 for international

Developer Impact:

Developers will receive warning message via the API every time they make an API call which uses the legacy XML, Windows SDK 2.6, or Legacy REST format. .

Feature Description:

The warning message will read: "Error: The Legacy XML format used in this request is being phased out. All applications should migrate to the Unified Schema to avoid loss of service. For more information please see http://developer.ebay.com/migration/." This message carries a warning code number and does not indicate an API call failure. It is only a warning. If you pass along API error and/or warning messages from eBay to your end customers, you may want to prevent these message from being received by your end customers.

The Legacy format will no longer be supported after June 2006. In order to avoid a loss of service to your application, you need to migrate to the Unified Schema format of eBay Web Services. The Unified Schema supports XML, SOAP, and REST ( for GetSearchResults only ) based communication. For more details, please see the links below.
