eBay Client Alerts JavaScript SDK
Samples Read Me

The eBay Client Alerts JavaScript SDK makes it easier for you, as a JavaScript developer, to access the eBay Client Alerts API. You will program to JavaScript interfaces instead of dealing with API response payloads and low-level interactions with the API platform. Additionally, common issues like session management are handled by the SDK.

The SDK includes the several samples for you to run and explore to learn more about Client Alerts and the SDK. The samples are located in the sample folder of the SDK. Most of the samples are ready to run, but you must edit the JavaScript files to run the ClientAlertsPublicChannelBadge and ClientAlertsPrivateEventsBadge samples.

Here are descriptions of the samples. Click the links to view the working sample:

• Hello World sample, which uses the Channel Manager to retrieve public alerts
  (instructions are provided in the sample)
• Session sample, which uses the Session class to retrieve user alerts from the eBay Client Alerts server
  (instructions are provided in the sample)
• ClientAlertsPublicChannelBadge sample, which retrieves public alerts and displays them in a badge widget
  (enter an item ID for an active listing to see how this widget works)
• Multiple channels badge sample, which retrieves multiple public alerts simultaneously
  (enter item IDs for two active listings to use this sample)
• ClientAlertsPrivateEventsBadge sample, which retrieves user alerts and displays them in a badge widget
  (enter an item ID for an active listing to try this widget)
• Channel sample, which provides a more complex UI than the Hello World sample
  (instructions are provided in the sample)
